Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Dr. Veenu Lekhi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University in 1993. Since relocating to Calgary 13 years ago, she has dedicated six years to providing dental care for medically compromised patients at Foothills Hospital. Dr. Lekhi has also served as a consultant to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and has held affiliations with both the University of Calgary’s School of Medicine and the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry as a hospital staff dentist.
Dr. Lekhi’s approach to dentistry is grounded in a simple philosophy: a healthy mouth contributes to a healthy body. She believes that excellent dental care starts with a healthy lifestyle and is committed to empowering her patients with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their oral health.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Lekhi enjoys the fine arts and values well-being through meditation, yoga, swimming, and hiking with her family. She is actively involved in the Calgary community, supporting organizations such as the Calgary Drop-In Centre and Local Food Bank. Internationally, she has led and participated in dental missions to countries including Guyana, Haiti, and India.
While Dr. Lekhi’s passion is practicing dentistry, her favorite part is connecting with her patients. She focuses on building long-term relationships and tailoring care to each patient’s unique needs to ensure optimal outcomes.
